The “Millésima Blog Awards 2020” is sponsored by Millésima SA (known as “Sponsor”). This contest is governed by these official rules (“Official Rules”). By participating in the contest, each entrant agrees to abide by these Official Rules, including all eligibility requirements, and understands that the results of the contest, as determined by Sponsor and its agents, are final in all respects. The contest is subject to all federal, state and local laws and regulations and is void where prohibited by law. Official rules subject to change without notice.

Eligibility

Open to international entrants, with the exception of residents of Italy, as well as all countries where national regulations prohibit or restrict the organization of or participation in contests or lotteries. All participants MUST be of legal age to consume alcohol in their location of origin. Sponsor reserves the right to verify the eligibility of each entrant.

Submission Period

The contest begins on November 29, 2019 (at noon – 12 p.m. – CET). The submission period for applications lasts until January 2, 2020 (at noon – 12 p.m. – CET). All entries (submissions) must be received on or before the time stated during that submission period. The sponsor accepts no responsibility for entries not received for whatever reason.

How to Enter

You can enter the contest through the website: https://blogawards.millesima.com. The Sponsor’s web platform is hosted by Amazon. The application can be found on the “APPLY NOW!” tab. Entrants must fill out in order to participate in the contest, including the selection of one (1) category. The submitted article must have been published for less than one year. Only entries written in English will be considered. Participants may submit one article only per category, except for the Wine & Innovation Award category, where a maximum of three (3) entries in total are allowed. The same article may not be submitted to multiple categories. Duplicate entries will be deleted. In total, each participant may apply to three (3) categories maximum, across our five (5) categories. Sponsor reserves the right to extend or shorten any part of the contest at their sole discretion.

 Categories

  • Wine Travel Award (involves writing about wine regions across the globe)
  • Food & Wine Pairing Award (involves writing about all types of food and wine)
  • Wine Reporter Award (an open category celebrating the best in wine writing)
  • Wine & Innovation Award (this category encompasses wine, science and innovation and the interaction between the three)
  • Wine Image Award (this non-written category allows photography, short film – 3 mn. recommended length and image. We are not looking for a simple picture of a bottle of wine or a stereotypical wine documentary, but for a true wine story and a unique visual identity). The entry should link to an active blog/website with regular updates.

Selection of 25 Finalists (1st Jury selection)

All entries will be gathered into a database by Sponsor’s web platform, hosted by Amazon. Submissions will be evaluated by an independent panel of judges (“1st Jury”) as appointed by the Sponsor during the submission period. Judges will evaluate each entry based on the criteria defined on the website: https://blogawards.millesima.com. Twenty-five (25) finalists will be announced on January 15, 2020. Announcements and further instructions will be sent to the e-mail address provided on the potential finalists’ entry forms. Each entrant is responsible for monitoring his/her e-mail account for notifications and/or other communications related to this competition.

Selection of 5 Category Winners (2nd Jury selection)

Five (5) winners, one for each category, will be selected out of the twenty-five (25) finalists. These finalists’ pieces will be evaluated by a second independent panel of judges (“2nd Jury”) comprised of four (4) past winners of the Millésima Blog Awards. This 2nd Jury will evaluate each entry based on the criteria defined on the website: https://blogawards.millesima.com. Five (5) winners, one (1) for each of the five (5) categories, will be announced on January 31, 2020. Announcements and further information will be sent to the e-mail address provided on the potential finalists’ entry forms. Each entrant is responsible for monitoring his/her e-mail account for notifications and/or other communications related to this competition. The names of theses 5 winners can be provided upon written request for a period of up to six (6) months following the announcement of the winners and conclusion of the contest (February 11, 2020).

Selection of “Popular Vote” Winner (Voting Period)

The third round of the contest (“Voting Period”) begins on January 31, 2020 (4 p.m. – CET) and concludes on February 10, 2020 (3:59 p.m. – CET). A 6th winner will be chosen through a popular vote, conducted via the Sponsor’s website: https://blogawards.millesima.com. Voters must fill out all required fields for a vote to be considered valid. Each voter is allowed to vote for a maximum of 20 remaining finalists, regardless of categories. Each voter is permitted a maximum of 20 votes in total over a period of 24 hours, according to the number of finalists. Each voter is allowed to vote only once (1) for each particular finalist over a period of 24 hours. Voters will be required to verify identity before submitting a vote. Votes gathered during the Voting Period will be analyzed and verified by Sponsor’s web platform. The name of the sixth (6th) winner can be provided upon written request for a period of up to six (6) months following the announcement of the sixth (6th) winner and conclusion of contest (February 11, 2020).

Reward for Selected Voters

In order to encourage online voting, a draw will be held among all voters (excluding the 25 finalists) at the end of the online voting period. Three (3) winning voters will be selected and contacted by email to receive one Voucher each. These will be exchangeable for a single-use promotion code, valid on the online sales websites corresponding to the country of the voter, for a unit value of 100 USD (or equivalent in the winning voter’s native currency).

Prizes

Announcements and instructions for the prizes will be sent to the e-mail addresses provided on the potential prize winners’ entry forms. Each finalist is responsible for monitoring his/her e-mail account for prize notification and/or other communications related to this contest. If a potential prize winner cannot be reached by Sponsor within fifteen (15) days of announcing the winners using the contact information provided at the time of entry, that potential prize winner shall forfeit his/her prize. Upon the request of the Sponsor, the potential winner may be required to turn in additional documents proving his/her eligibility for a contest, including but not limited to: Affidavit of Eligibility, Release and Prize Acceptance Form and IRS W-9 form. If a potential winner fails to comply with these official rules, that potential winner will be disqualified. Prizes may not be awarded if an insufficient number of eligible entries are received. Each finalist will receive a gift with an estimated maximum value of $120. The total value of each winner prize will not exceed $5000. Each winner will receive a trip to Bordeaux, including airfare, accommodation and meals, from the 28th of March to the 3th of April 2020 (est. value $4500). Values and prizes are subject to change. Additional terms and conditions may apply. No accompanying party or guest will be allowed to join the winner or be taken care of during the length of the trip by the Sponsor. Incidental expenses, as well as all other costs and expenses, which are not specifically listed as part of a prize in these Official Rules, and which may be associated with the award, the acceptance, receipt and use of all or any portion of the awarded prize, are solely the responsibility of the respective prize winner. ALL FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL TAXES ASSOCIATED WITH THE RECEIPT OR USE OF ANY PRIZE IS SOLELY THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE WINNER.

ADDITIONAL LIMITATIONS         

Prizes will only be distributed to the author of the submitted post. Prizes are non-transferable. No substitution or cash equivalent of the prizes is permitted. The number of eligible entries received determines the odds of winning. Sponsor and its respective parent, affiliate and subsidiary companies, agents, and representatives are not responsible for any typographical or other errors in the offer or administration of the Contest, including, but not limited to, errors in any printing or posting or these Official Rules, the selection and announcement of any winner, or the distribution of any prize. Any attempt to damage the content or operation of this Contest is unlawful and subject to possible legal action by Sponsor. Sponsor reserves the right to terminate, suspend or amend the Contest, without notice, and for any reason, including, without limitation, if Sponsor determines that the Contest cannot be conducted as planned or should a virus, bug, tampering or unauthorized intervention, technical failure or other cause beyond Sponsor’s control corrupt the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper play of the Contest. In the event that any tampering or unauthorized intervention occurs, Sponsor reserves the right to void suspect entries at issue. Sponsor and its respective parent, affiliate and subsidiary companies, agents, and representatives, and any telephone network or service providers, are not responsible for incorrect or inaccurate transcription of entry information, or for any human error, technical malfunction, lost or delayed data transmission, omission, interruption, deletion, line failure or malfunction of any telephone network, computer equipment or software, the inability to access any website or online service or any other error, human or otherwise.

INDEMNIFICATION AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY          

By entering the contest, each entrant agrees to indemnify, release and hold harmless sponsor and its parent, affiliate and subsidiary companies, administrator, advertizing and promotional agencies, and all their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents from any liability, damages, losses or injury resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from that entrant’s participation in the contest and the acceptance, use or misuse of any prize that may be awarded. Sponsor and its parent, affiliate and subsidiary companies do not make any warranties, express or implied, as to the condition, fitness or merchantability of the prize. Sponsor and its parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertizing and promotional agencies, and all their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents disclaim any liability for damage to any computer system resulting from access to or the download of information or materials connected with the contest.

This Contest is under no circumstance sponsored or administered, directly or indirectly, by YouTube, Dailymotion, Vimeo, or any broadcasting platforms, which have no involvement in the organization or promotion of the Contest.

Privacy Policy

By participating, each entrant grants Sponsor permission to use his/her name, likeness and/or comments for publicity purposes without payment of additional consideration, except where prohibited by law. Any personal information provided during the contest is for the exclusive use of the Sponsor. The information collected about each entrant is processed after collection of his/her consent, destined for Sponsor for the organization of the contest and the management of commercial relationship. Each entrant has a right of access, rectification, portability, erasure of these, or a limitation of treatment.
